Pedometer Gun (Permanent) - A gun attached to a belt that functions like ROB's laser, I suppose, where instead of waiting around for the laser to grow powerful, walking/running does so. I don't know what the number of steps should be for full power but I guessed 5000. Steps when fully charged cause it to give off energy in a glow, which informs the user it's full as well as keeping it from getting more powerful than it should. Also, make sure to keep this away from Blip. Vine-tether seeds (Finite) - A pair of seeds connected by a tiny thread, which will latch onto whatever they're thrown at. When both seeds have been thrown, the thread will grow into a thick vine. The thread has no set length, but when the vine has grown that length will be permanent. Camera+Video Eyepatch (Permanent) - A small camera that can be thrown or hooked up to walls (kind of like the seeds yes) that sends video to the eyepatch the user wears. For, you know, surveillance or scouting. Not sure how the camera will be retrieved. Barrier String (Finite) - A can of silly string, essentially. When the string is fired, however, it creates a 7-foot-or-so tall magic wall above itself. Barriers fade away over time, getting shorter as time goes on. Polish Brush (Permanent) - A brush that can be used to clean things that, in addition to general cleaning, automatically adds shine to it. Its most obvious use is for cleaning gemstones and other things to add value to them. Regenerative Armband (Finite) - An armband (I imagined a sort of tourniquet) with a small vial of red liquid on it. When attached, the liquid will begin draining, lasting for X minutes - during that time, the wearer will be given regenerative healing properties. You know, like Wolverine I think. Infinite Chocolate Bar (Permanent) - A bar of chocolate that never runs out. What more could you possibly want? Hastemix (Finite) - Like chocolate powder used for making chocolate milk, hastemix can be used in water (maybe other liquids) to create Bacchus Cider, the haste-giving item from FF3. I stress CIDER here as opposed to other variations. Hoverink Pen (Finite) - A pen filled with ink that allows the user to draw in mid-air. Not much more to it than that. Status-Heal Tissues (Finite) - Well I dunno I was staring at my tissue box and wondered if it could cure colds or something better than that. Like poison or slow. WHO KNOWS 360-Vision Glasses (Permanent) - An item that, when worn on the back of the head, allows the user to see 360 degrees. I have no idea how that'd actually feel for the user but I can't imagine it'd be hard to use in an RP. Clonedisk (Either) - A small disk of sorts with a little blue pad on the top. If the user presses down on the pad, it will scan the user, then flash - when it flashes, toss the disk onto the ground somewhere. A few seconds later, a holographic clone will appear above the disk. The clone mimics your movements and can affect the physical world like you would. I think there was something like this in Minish Cap? Either way, it disappears after a certain period of time. The disk could work either once or as many times as the user wishes, depending on what YOU think. Instasleep Mask (Permanent) - A sleep mask (those things you wear over your eyes when you go to sleep) that basically has the ability to put the wearer to sleep instantly for either 12 hours or until the mask is removed. It's the good kind of sleep, with plenty of wonderful dreams involved, but still sleep. Invisibility Smokebombs (Finite) - Smoke bombs that, when thrown down, make everyone inside the blast radius invisible for a short period of time. Perhaps how long depends on how close they are to the blast origin? I dunno. Raincloud Flute (Either) - A device that resembles a pokeflute, except where the pokeball is on the flute, there is instead a glass sphere filled with dark grey clouds. When the flute is blown, it sends out a raincloud - the size depends on the duration of the note, the height depends on the pitch. If the item is permanent, that's all we need to worry about - if it's finite, however, then the sphere's contents would deplete over time from use. Magic Modifying Hoop (Either) - A hula-hoop, essentially, that can be either held or made to float in mid-air. It has two sides; if a spell passes through the first side, it'll get x2 larger/more powerful. On the other hand, going through the OPPOSITE side will cause it to be halved. If it's finite just make it so it has a certain amount of uses before it becomes unusable. As a side note I just thought of, what if it needed to be charged to double spells? Like, it gains power from halving spells, and doubling spells uses up that power. Conservation of magic. Transportation Bubbles (Finite) - A bubble wand and container of bubble soap, where the bubbles that are blown can be made /huge/. Huge enough, in fact, to fit people inside them. So it could be used for transportation or something. Finite because bubble soap does not last forever. Malivari Doll (Either) - A white malivari doll inside a glass capsule with several buttons and such on it. The control interface can be used to shape and color the malivari to your liking, with the "confirm" button opening the capsule and making the doll into a "real" malivari - a living doll. I don't know the use of it but I figured I might as well note this one. Maybe it could be used for popopos or something instead. Either way, finite would mean the magic either doesn't last forever or the malivari can't be put back in the capsule to be redone. There are a lot of options here. Background-Spawning Sunglasses (Finite) - A sunglasses, each with the same function; when worn for the first time, a background similar to the "pose as a team because shit just got real" one pops up behind the wearer. Colors depend on the wearer. Maybe there should be six pairs. Instacharge Battery (Finite) - A battery that can be hooked up to absolutely anything, using up its own power to put something at full charge immediately. While it would work with any electricity-powered machine, it was designed with a certain rage-filled character in mind. Explanation Flash Cards (Finite) - A pack of maybe 60 flash cards that have a special function. When the user wants to explain something, they can hold out one of the cards, which will magically fill itself out. Anyone who looks at the card will instantly know one minute's worth of explaining. If several cards are used, you can get across something that would normally take ten minutes to explain across in a few seconds. Cards, once used, are unable to be reused for a different subject - however, they still work for what they were assigned for. Focus Headphones (Permanent) - A pair of headphones that, when worn, cause the user to hear absolutely no sound whatsoever. In return for this, they receive the ability to focus intently on the task at hand. This is especially good for magic users, who will find casting and charging spells much easier with the headphones on. Antimagic Spray (Finite) - A spray that can lessen or slow the effects of magic that it's used on. For example, using it on someone who'd Slowed or Hasted will cause them to be closer to normal speed, and using it on magic fire will cause the fire to work slower as well as not being as hot. Lucky Watch (Finite) - A gold wristwatch that doesn't exactly show time. It shows a countdown of how much longer its effects work for, which either could work only when worn or requires a start button to be pressed. During the time its effect is on, the user will experience a boost in luck. Boost Countdown (Either) - Yeah I was in a clock mood. Anyway, this item is basically a clock of sorts (hourglass? I dunno these designs are all easily able to be changed) that would either: FINITE: can be set to a time, to which it will count down. Minimum time should be enforced, like an hour or ten minutes. When it hits the specified time, for that single second, everyone nearby will get a boost in power. Works maybe 1-3 times before it breaks. PERMANENT: could work like above, but with no breaking time; alternatively, it could (while turned on) work once every hour. Maybe a huge bonus at midnight, I dunno. That's probably not possible because we'd have to determine whose timezone we'd be going by. Keyword Locator (Permanent) - A device resembling a GPS that can be set to a word, any word. If anyone within a certain distance (probably a lot) says the word it's set to, a small dot will appear on the device showing the location of whoever said it. No built-in way to tell who the dot is, though. King's and Queen's Crown (Permanent) - I am actually kind of proud of this one. A pair of either white or black or something-else crowns, one resembling the king's crown in chess while the other resembles the queen's. When the crowns are each being worn by someone, and they're not /too/ far away, their effects will kick in. The effects are really quite simple; the king experiences a decrease in speed and power, while the queen gets the opposite, a BOOST in speed and power. If either crown is removed, or either person dies (HA), the effects stop taking place. Monster Summoning Die (Finite) - A collection of maybe six 20-sided dice, which will summon a monster from DnD or FF or I don't even know when rolled. Which monster is summoned depends on the number rolled. The monsters go away after the battle and/or disappear when their health runs out. Whether or not the user actually gets to COMMAND the monster is unknown but I'd assume they would be able to. Save Marker (Finite) - You know how on whiteboards, people will sometimes circle a section and put the word "SAVE" next to it, so that other people won't erase what's inside? This marker enforces that. Whatever surface is circled by the marker will be unable to be affected by ANYTHING until the ink fades away. Noiseblock Bell (Permanent) - A small bell that, when rung, will silence other sounds close enough to the source of the ring. The bell would still be heard, though I think it would be heard in a way where you can't tell where the source of the sound is. Performance Tombstone (Either) - A small tombstone that, when used in some way I don't even know, summons three ghost judges to the battle area. They begin rating the performance of the summoner, based on things like how creative they are, how much they avoid repetition, and how effective in battle they're being. The more the judges approve, the summoner will experience a boost in power and whatnot. The more that disapprove, the WEAKER the summoner will get; so make sure you impress them. If the item is finite, the tombstone would break after use. If not, it doesn't. Temporary Soul Detacher (Either) - An item that allows you to rip a soul from its body, freeing it for a certain period of time. During that time, the soul is given general ghostly abilities, like flying through walls and possessing shit. However, the body has no way of defending itself. It could be used either offensively or supportively, really. I know it'd have to physically enter the body (phase into it) in order to rip the soul out, at least - if it worked any other way it could easily be abused. The item seems more permanent-style but could be finite via breaking or something. Attachable Steering Wheel (Either) - A steering wheel that, when attached to something, will basically turn it into a whateverthatsomethingis-mobile. A table, for example, would grow wheels so it would be a table-mobile. There might be a gas system involved, keeping it from being used forever. Couch-in-a-ball (Finite) - It's a small capsule that, when thrown, will break open and make a fully-sized couch appear. I don't know about you but this seems useful as hell to me.
